The challenge of trying to keep Kolben’s home looking consistent, more or less, between different pieces of the story. I had to do a lot of referencing back and forth and then fleshing out bits we hadn’t gotten a good look at the first time around.

The poor guy doesn’t live in the best conditions. I bet it’s drafty as can be and there’s not a lot of creature comforts to be had, but he’s got lots and lots of table space to cover with his research and his maps and his drawings, and that’s what matters in his world, I suppose.
